I'm all for competition fueling change. People aren't taught the value that competitiveness brings to modern society. Rather than say trying to destroy a business because they support positions an organization doesn't like, said organization should be competing against the business. For example, downloading music was viable competition for the music industry that was forcing people to pay $20+ per album, when they only wanted 2-3 songs. Now the music industry is complaining about the competition they had a large hand in creating from their own greed. Attempts at censorship or banning unpopular speech is only breeding competition, especially these days with the massive growth of the internet. I'm thankful for the internet, as it provides a valuable outlet for those looking to vent, where previously they might have become violent due to such repressive measures. I rarely complain myself, I usually compete.

oftentimes I think it goes too far. My thoughts have always been, if you don't like it then change the channel/station. It's that simple

Actually, define censorship, technically everything has some form of censorship or limits to freedom of speech and press, such as libel laws.

I see censorship as trying to uphold a false reality. They censor certain swear words on television even though people use those words all the time. They censor sexual content even though sexual content has been an integral part of the media and pop culture for decades. All censorship is is a way to keep a sensitive minority happy and help them live in their happy-go-lucky fantasy world. That's really all it is. Just look at what others are saying about it. It's almost unanimous among the public.

If people aren't censoring themselves in person, why do it on television and radio? Stop the censorship.

I work in the media. It is not censorship that concerns me; indeed, I would need a recent example....rather, it is the show producers who have political agendas and top rated shows to deliver their propaganda. I have seen them at work, so be very afraid. AND ASK QUESTIONS.
