Have you ever been loyal to someone at work and been stabbed in the back?

What did you do?

Yes, I have had that happen, when I saved someone's job only to have them turn around and stab me in the back. When the time came the second time to save their job, I just threw up my hands and said that it wasn't possible and enumerated how they had stabbed me in the back repeatedly, while I remained loyal to them. I would not intervene on their behalf for a termination for cause issue, due to their conduct with a client, and when the HR manager determined that termination was required, the decision was made.
I don’t stick my neck out for people. That’s why that never happens to me. If I’m there to do a job I do the job. @toddr13

@Spoiledbrat that’s a good attitude. I wasn’t sticking my neck out as much as intervening with my partners and not listening to the recommendation of our inept HR manager.
Sorry to hear that. @toddr13

@Spoiledbrat Thanks. I'm generally a nice person, so when I saw that his person took advantage of me the first time, there was no listening the second time around. However, there are better stories where I have put my faith in someone and have been rewarded -- I tend to remember those more.
