It is still what is best. Two to make a baby. Two to share the pregnancy. Two to support physically and emotionally. One parent for holding each hand of that child, and maybe children. Yes, there are single parents. And they do the best they can. Just like couples do. Too 1950s? Bite your tongue. These days people need all the help they can get and that includes raising children. People are spread out. Families are drifting apart. Two jobs. Less time. Who gives a damn what people don't have or expect anymore? I only know what I know. It is when you devalue the power and the love of two-that is when you make the world a darker, lonelier place. And I add two to watch them grow and leave and become adults and likely parents. And then grow old together, still holding hands.
