Yes, at that stage is more believable to be just a forming being. No sentience and no feelings, no heartbeat or brain. I don't really feel much about those. My only concern really are the late term stages. When a child is already kicking and moving about in the womb. I get that i'm not a woman and accept that I will never understand the struggle of womanhood so of course I respect your thoughts on it. How do you feel about late stage? This is after a woman has already endured many months of carrying the baby. I personally think it's better to just give the child up for adoption. I think infants feel pain at that stage. I'm just trying to understand both sides on this.

@SW-User I still think its the choice of the woman, the risks associated with it, the reason as to why she would abort all of that has to be considered too. I'm never going to change my view of being pro choice, which may sound stubborn but because of my own experience and meeting women in situations like that I know that pro choice is the right way to think and be. I appreciate you being nice and not rude and trying to understand my view on it

I personally still have my views on this as well. Whether that will change in the future remains to be seen. Thank you for giving me your input. It's given me something to think about. 😊

I'm not for making it illegal, but I'm for calling it what it is and acknowledging that it is ending a life. There are instances where we regard ending a life as legal: war, self-defense, executions. This is another.

@SW-User a very good answer ! .....it takes us to the area of where a life " begins" ....and that is always a tricky one to make a case on
Wilcrooks · 61-69, M
Every single case is so very individual ....So it should always be the decision of the mother ...not the State ...or political groups ...or any religion .
Wilcrooks · 61-69, M
@Lana24 wish we could set the rule in concrete now !
Lana24 · 26-30, F
@Wilcrooks yes that would be so wonderful :)

@Lana24 i know exactly what the bond is like between parent and child ...i have a 31 year old daughter Sally ...our bond is immense ...i just wished these natural bonds between parents and siblings were the same for everone.
A study of the history of what occurred prior to legal abortion shows why it is a necessary option.
There are thousands of studies available done by academic researchers in most countries around the world,
and there are many metastudies which collate all the results.
Many are accessible free online.

@AgapeLove It probably depends on your definition of "catastrophe".
I was a young adult in the days before abortion became legal.
I remember the frequent news headlines.
I read the academic reports by doctors studying the cases that came into the emergency wards.
Women used to do all kinds of things to get rid of a child conceived by accident or rape.
They gave the babies to orphanages. Of those, some were adopted out to loving families: some others, one in ten, ended up in families where they were raised as slaves, brutally beaten, raped, and sometimes murdered.
Of those that remained in orphanages, on in three was abuse or sexually abused - these cases have been coming out in court cases all over the world - with the now adult children still bearing the physical scars.
Most suicides by women in those days were due to unwanted pregnancies - to avoid the shame of the way their own families and society treated single mothers.
Women took poisons to try to abort and often died of the poisons.
Women stuck knitting needles up inside themselves to kill the foetus, and frequently ended up half dead of septicemia in the emergency wards of hospitals.
Women went to back-street abortionists who were often no better than butchers,
and later died of the post-op infections.
Some women bore the children, and took out their anger and depression on those children as they grew, creating psychopaths in the process.
I was there in the days when these practices were commonplace.

While correct contraception is always the best way to avoid conception, no contraception is 100% effective.

I my view, condemning pregnant women to bear babies they do not want is a recipe for multiplying the cruelties committed against their children because, so far, no society has found a means to prevent these crimes.

I completely stand behind pro-choice. If I were involved, I would hope we could have a discussion about it, but would honor her decision and stand by her. But I would hope I'd never be put in that place because I've never been that irresponsible with hers and my health.
Lana24 · 26-30, F
Definitely pro choice. No one else should have a say in that decision but the woman. I don’t get why people are agaianst it, like what if the alternative is that the child grows up being unwanted or in an insecure home, or it’s not safe for the mom, or a billion other circumstances haha.
But I definitely appreciate that even though you are against it, you have a level of respect for it being the woman’s choice!

I'm against it. I'm pro life but it's still the woman's choice but I just think of the life of the child that wouldn't be born. Yes, maybe this place is not a good place to live but let us let the child decides for that. But it is still the woman's choice and I wouldn't argue with her.😊

@SensitiveGirl96 Well it's really up to her because it's her life. 😊

I'm not sure. I support it in cases of rape or if the child is so heavily deformed that it will never live a happy life. If a woman gets an abortion for any other reason, it's not my place to judge her or treat her like some monster but i'll never think positive about it.

@SW-User The question should be can whatever it is, survive outside the Womb?
We all know the answer to that, even Neanderthal man!

I'm pro-choice. I believe it's a decision between a woman and her doctor, and one each woman or girl has the right to make for herself.
SW-User
@Harriet03 It is strange. I'd love to ask those who share my gender.
@Harriet03 There are about 600 different laws and statutes existing that dictate what women can and cannot do with their own bodies---nothing comparable for men. The GOP's "religious freedom" laws allow companies who provide healthcare to their employees to exclude birth control from their plans based upon religious beliefs---while still providing Viagra.

Misogyny ? Sounds like.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard They have the nerve, to call themselves Christians!!
It really is beyond comprehension.
Abortion is very complicated so I dont think there is a yes or a no on that one unless you are an extremist.
@Harriet03 You love me dont you.

I guess that’s your best friend who is no toy. I am pro choice personally. I can do what I want or what’s best for me but I don’t know what that is for other people.
OpenlyHonestly · 31-35, F
Only against the forced one. I mean, when parents or a partner tries to force a girl or a woman to have abortion.
It depends on many factors.
offingg · 26-30, F
No, i’m prochoice.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
I'm pro death. I'm for both executions of serial killers and for ejecting a clump of cells.
