Opinions

Bordom

Self gratification through social media.

the idea of existentialism ironicly influenced by social ideals in the false pretense of being original and important.

An MARTIN THE FIRST! 😈😈😈😈
@User41 “the idea of existentialism ironically influenced by social ideals in the false pretense of being original and important.” That sounds profoundly deep but can you be more specific, which social ideals?

God. Country. Selfies.
@User41 all countries or just the US?

I like that a lot 👍

Everyone who has enough time to think about how humanity can “better itself” an doesn’t rest in the third world squat

@User41
What does that have to do with existentialism ?
The idea is fine if I understand how they relate. Are you saying that the man squattting has not created personal life purpose? Is existentialism opposed to
Religon.
I am an existential Christian.
Do you find that a paradox?
User41 · 36-40, M
I think humanity as we know it is a wild animals brain on a pedestal in most ways.

We all think we are so moral and smart. As we type into our stupid phones and iPads. (I got mine on a good deal)

Existentialism is the idea of a completely free thinking. Which is literally impossible.

If you have a single 1st world issue. You are thinking in terms of existentialism.

Otherwise you’d be to busy worrying about how to fined a meal for tomorrow.

An existential Christian? That is a paradox to me. TBH.

But idk you 🤷🏻‍♂️. Or how you think. I’m not closed off to the possibility that I could be wrong.

🤔 the older I get the more I think I don’t understand anything.

But I’m not here for philosophical bullshit. 🤷🏻‍♂️
@User41
That is why I wanted clarity.
There are many here that have any idea what existentialism is.
Camus defines it as a person taking personal responsibility for living and their life. That is what “The Myth of Sisyphus” defines with the connection to the Greek Myth. Sartre has more of a visceral spin on Existentialism but they all pointed out to the “absurdity” of life.
Philosophy can be important if that is how you build your epistological foundation and how your hermeneutical view applies pragmatically to your life and its views.
User41 · 36-40, M
Idk tbh.

I barely made it out of high school 🤷🏻‍♂️

But the “absurdity of life” is intersting.
@User41 That is a core principle in Existentialism. It isn’t free thought friend.
User41 · 36-40, M
i know. Its like god. All encompassing. But under extream scrutiny... it makes no sense.

My brain hurts.
@User41
Believing in science will compel you to commit suicide on Pi day.
Observe what Hawking did.
User41 · 36-40, M
Maybe.

But more miracles have been performed by science than god.

I mean here I am, shouting my stupid opinions to you.

Through the air and onto your phone.

Meanwhile, people fight over “gods” interpretation of the proper way to live.
@User41
Again if you might have seen Hawking and his ambitions for a Priest.
He gave the “benediction” or good statement at the end of the U2 concert in Paris last year.
Ghosting · 26-30
@User41 If God exists then he created humanity and permitted humans the capability to create technology. Which would give God partial credit for this miracle...
User41 · 36-40, M
I’m not going to argue. What you just said is actually flawed.

It has been so since the Greeks. As far back as I know.

If you find purpose in god fine. I’m not here to shoot you down.
@User41
Is that directed at me?
User41 · 36-40, M
🤔

yes.

@Aliveshock
@User41
I didn’t see any support for your argument in opposing what I just said.
You called it flawed.after prefacing that you didn’t want to argue.
A divided mind?
