@popmol THOUSANDS of kids throughout it's history ! Abused and assaulted.
Imagine what that type of experience does as that child grows into adulthood.
Creates generations of abusers that follow.

@Picklebobble2 Probably more than just thousands, 100s of thousands...they were the ones running the Native American boarding school homes in the USA...children forcibly removed from families and punished severely if they attempted to enforce their culture or speak their native language to another child, many raped, killed, etc. And similar things in Canada, Australia and other countries.

@cherokeepatti If this were any political group they'd be outlawed and it would have been actively disbanded centuries ago.
I just get the feeling that a Habit or a Cassock seems to be a 'haven of safety' for those who are so deficient in morals and decency it seems to give some of them licence to perpetrate this abhorrence.

@Picklebobble2 I think it was because they did it to minority children in past history that they got by with it so long. If they'd done this to white children here 100 years or more ago they'd probably ended up swinging by a rope, seriously.

@cherokeepatti I've been a children's social worker for a long time. Seen and heard and read things i couldn't begin to let other folk know about !
And every time another one makes the news i feel like everything i've tried hard to undo over the last thirty years has just been a waste of time.
Because there's always more.
