The irony of lightbulbs is that theoretically at least, you could make them last as long as you like if you get the thickness of the filament right

They don't make them like that anymore, you're lucky to get one to last 2 weeks.
It should be noted that this lightbulb is only 4W which isnt enough to light up a cupboard, let alone a room. Most standard lightbulbs produce 100W-200W of light so each room would need approx 50 lights just to produce the same effect.
