Its part of your traditions. I have a friend who's dad is a German immigrant he does the same except a beer.

I admit I might drink more than I'm supposed to sometimes but yeah for the most part it's just how I grew up. Even when I was a child I had wine for dinner haha

I descend from Germans on my mom's side but the more strict members of our faith doent drink at all. Actually the Germans ran our ancestors out.
