Communication. How can you trust someone without knowing who they are?
SW-User
@MartinTheFirst If you can't trust them, you can't trust a word they say.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@SW-User I don't need to trust what they say. I can notice when they lie or not.
@MartinTheFirst how do you know for sure? There are pathological liars that don’t get caught for ages.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@RemovedUsername650611 Because I used to be a pathological liar. I know what words can be made into lies and which ones can only be true.
@MartinTheFirst
I’m 26
I have a girlfriend
My eyes are blue

Which is the lie?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@RemovedUsername650611 All of them can be lies
@MartinTheFirst but which one IS the lie?
SW-User
@MartinTheFirst The way I see it, if I can't trust them, I don't want to hear a word they have to say, nor do I have anything to say to them. And I can figure out if someone is trustworthy way before I ever have much to do with them...but certainly with very little conversation.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@RemovedUsername650611 idk i'm no fortune teller now am I...
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@SW-User Sometimes all you have around you are liars, but you still need to communicate..
@MartinTheFirst you just said you don’t need to trust what they say because you can notice when they lie or not. Now they could all be true, they could all be lies. One can be a lie. How would you know?
SW-User
@MartinTheFirst But that has nothing to do with what is the most important to me between trust or communication. That was the original question. If I'm surrounded by liars, I may be forced to communicate with them, but I'm sure not going to communicate anything of importance to me to them.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@RemovedUsername650611 Because what they say align partly with reality, and what they think shows in their voice and face. I throw away all sentences that could be lies and that might be dangerous to believe until they prove themselves, and keep the reliable information.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@SW-User If a person you can trust can't communicate, they're of no use either way.
SW-User
@MartinTheFirst I disagree.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@SW-User thats oki
@MartinTheFirst I can tell a complete lie with a straight face and confident tone in voice and you would never know the difference.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@RemovedUsername650611 That doesn't harm me. I knew a guy who could do that, the key importance is to see where his words doesn't align with reality or what other people say.
@MartinTheFirst so you could tell when he was lying 100% of the time?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@RemovedUsername650611 Just the times that counted.
