I blame groups like Autism Speaks, since they only portray the mute child with a facial deformity, that's usually also violent. That's not helping anybody, and only helps cause these ridiculous stereotypes.

@SW-User I actually heard about years ago that they are highly intelligent just have some kind of behavior disorder I guess? I guess I was the minority who knew

@Chickie That’s pretty much it, yeah. A lot of us also have trouble reading social cues like facial expressions and body language, and don’t like a lot of commotion or crowds.
