Are you frugal?

The only time I spend is on vacations and my wine. Apart from that, I budget and save.

I save water by showering at work, save on gym fees by using our corporate gym. Internet, technological devices and car are all work tools. I use it for personal use within reason. I save money in that area.

I hardly ever buy lunch or eat out. Work has a yearly clothing allowance. I use half to purchase clothes for work and the rest in personal clothing items. My sister in laws are impulsive shoppers and love to order clothing online, 70% of the time, clothing is small and they usually throw it my way.

I make my own lunches, buy clothes only on sales and once a year. I buy my car outright so I don't have payments, pay credit cards fully so there's no interest. I pay a lot in cash, when the cash runs out, I stop. I live simply and use stuff carefully so it lasts, even cheap things. I do most of my own repairs.

If I can't repair, I will watch YouTube videos and read from websites. I can repair almost everything in my house, from laying vinyls to repairing roofs. The things I can't, I find a professional.

Like yourself, I use cash. I take out certain amount for weekly spending and that's it. I only use credit cards for extreme emergencies and always paid upfront. I have an old beat up truck that is nearly 30 years old, still runs perfectly and only use when I go hunting. The rest of the time, I use work vehicle. I always pay in full too.

@SW-User yes, one 'incentive' for me to pay in cash more is all the change I have at the end of the year. Then cash it at the bank for free then buy yourself something nice without the numbers in your account going down. Feels like you got it free lol

@iamnikki This too! Keep all change and suddenly late in the year you have 'extra' spending money.

Currently my jar is at $73+ 😁

@SW-User not sure how much is in mine but I have around $40 that I didn't cash from last year, ran out of change roll things.. 😃

@MechE96, it also pains me when I see people drop money and leave it there. Like seriously? That's a whole quarter... I'll take it lol

@iamnikki Search for a jar that does the counting for you, or look at something from Amazon that fits over a 5 gal water jug and does the same thing.
