That the reason computers as powerful as they are today exist today is because a man called Ken Thompson got lazy and decided to create a computer operating system that would do all the work for him. So he left Bell Laboratories, a subsection of AT&T back when it was monopolizing all technology and had to be broken up, and when he left, he got together with a man called Dennis Ritchie (after they made the inefficient B language) to create C which ended up making all computers as efficient and powerful as they are today :D
