Why do some black people think they are not supposed to wear sunscreen

Peppa · 31-35, F Best Comment
Haha I wear sun screen and I make sure it's grey on my skin. I like to see where I've applied it. When I went on holiday with my family they said I think I'm like white people! Sad thing was I was all golden and brown whilst they were black and sunburnt. I do the whole aftersun too. My skin was so lush! I already have enough factors going against my skin with acne. I don't need to make it worse with damn melanoma, melasma and whatever else.
Body= temple and all that... lol

everybody needs some sunscreen-free solar-noon sun. vit D actually prevents cancer. don't get burnt, though! anywhere between 15 and 30 mins a few times a week should get it.

Melanin is not stronger than the sun, correct.

@Pureblossom most seem to think that, I"ve noticed.
Skin is skin no matter the color. It needs to be protected

Same reason some white people don't wear it.
All to do with melanin etc etc.

Because many of us don't automatically get sunburned.
