If I became a US citizen could I buy myself a little gun..take it into restaurants and stuff...walk around with a special swagger..

Possibly. In Texas, open carry has been legal for a couple years; but, businesses have a right to put up a sign which prohibits open carry inside the resteraunt or business. And not on government property.

It depends on the state, though.

@Tatsumi they can also prohibit concealed carry withbthe proper signage as well . I’ve been carrying since I was of the legal age to do so ... (CHL) and now that it’s changed to ( LTC - license to carry ) I have yet to see anyone open carry except at a gun range .
