When you are romantic, naive (that usually means young), and foolish ALL relationships involving romance and sex attraction are imaginary.
As for online, they can be very real, but they have some limitations.
Example: [i]Shakespeare & Company[/i], a non-fiction book written decades ago about two pen pal correspondents who sent each other snail mail letters for many years finally transcending the limitation of this intense long distance relationship by meeting in person and, eventually, getting married.

@SW-User It's the best book so far about that era, Charles Manson, and how a sweet pretty 14 year old girl from a middle class home wound up joining the cult. Since I knew the author, I had to read the book.
