What Peaceful said only it was my own Mom. My brother said he didn’t realize what a terrible cook she was until he was in the mess hall at boot camp. Which gives you an idea...

Poor Mom. She was a good Mom and a good person. I think it was at least half Dad’s fault.

He wanted to make sure his food wasn’t only merely dead but really quite sincerely dead before he consumed it.

I remember my surprise the first time I ate roast beef that wasn’t crispy.
