It’s never pointless. Even the ones who don’t admit, they will eventually think about it, they might and might not change their mind and attitude.

Anything controversial or just plain wrong needs to be openly discussed.
Yes you'll get insults and spam from trolls in whose interest it is to propel their POV. But as with physical vandalism, if you don't challenge it, they win.
