It depends on many factors.
If I had a terminal illness, I would or WOULD or WOULD NOT tell my family depending on these conditions.
A) If there was absolutely NO HOPE (medically), then I would NOT tell them. Why ruin my (and their) final days together with their parent/spouse.
B) If I felt emotionally vulnerable about it, like I was on the verge of a mental breakdown, where I would need *thei*r emotional support, then I would definitely tell them.
C) If the condition couldn't be hidden until the very end, then I would only tell them when they would probably realize it themselves anyway.
D) Regardless of the above, I would ensure that I did as much as I could to help them prepare for life without me. I wouldn't be robbing any banks tho.
