anything that moves or breathes or thinks is an individual expression of intelligence. even inanimate objects created by humans. trees. the world around us. those little lights in the sky that people think are stars. etc

The willingness to question everything, including deeply instilled beliefs and belief systems.

Book knowledge and education are important and often impressive...but to me the mark of true intelligence is in the ability to have and use common sense, to question and not take everything automatically at face value, to know when to shut up and just listen and observe, and the ability to put experience and wisdom to good use.
