A question regarding rape got laughed at. I choose to turn off the TV if my BF is watching a hideous stand up joker that makes fun of rape and child abuse.

Eh, you've gotta take things with a pinch of salt here. It's not like EP where it was more support based, i guess if you just post them into specific groups then you're less likely to get a broader audience of people who just want to dick around.
I got the same feel about this place. People on EP seemed to be alot more supportive and offered genuine advice. It had some bad eggs too but it seems many here are just smart asses and bullies. There are some light hearted geniune ones if you can find them though.
Try tumblr or Reddit ,they ain't bad ,maybe start a blog
