Under what circumstance would you leave your furniture behind in a move?

I don't understand why my family member left all furniture behind. They had to move in with another family member so storage was an issue BUT, you could have had things go to different members garage or get a storage unit.

This person has done this multiple times. I don't see why one would want to keep starting over with buying furniture, beds, kitchen gadgets, basically left everything besides clothes.

I feel sorry for this person's child...who hasn't had a bed in years.😓

It depends on the person and their income. Storage units cost so it's hard to afford them and rent.
Some people like to get new things, and a move is a good "excuse" to get new furniture.
Moving can be expensive. Sometimes it costs more to move furniture than to simply get new.

If it costs more to move it then it’s worth, I would leave it too

I notice some people are like that. They don’t take care of stuff or don’t see value in their stuff I don’t know.

Emotional trauma involving the furniture is sometimes a reason. Like if you were held prisoner in your house.

Only in an emergency evacuation or something

They probably just hate moving.

No time for other arrangements, it wasn't worth keeping, nobody wanted it, no place to store it.
No way to move it..
Lots of reasons but you would know better, you could always ask.

When bringing it with me would only expose me to more radiation.
