Don't you just hate when others try and tell you what someone else is thinking?

So I went to visit my dad rather late today as I didn't want to bump into his other kids I got there and my mum was sitting in the lounge area whilst my dad was being changed and put to bed, with my half brother. I felt so awkward. But I stayed. He was eating and watching the football so mum and I nattered away.
We went back to the room and I greeted him as usual with a hug and a kiss after wiping some of the dry skin away. I surprised him with a card and a indoor plant, he was really happy to see that I had thought of him.
My brother didn't really talk to us he just continued to watch the football only occasionally looking round to see my dad was OK.

At one stage I tried to show him how to set up dad computer just incase it's not on when he's there but he declined. After the Brazil match went to half time I decided to leave, dad was really tired and I was starving.

I said goodbye to my dad and my brother.

As we got a shirt distance away. My mum insisted on telling me that, he is jealous of me because I seem closer to my dad and I actually try and interact with him. Whereas they don't.

I have to admit I hate when she does this. How the hell does she know what he's like with dad when she's not there. Maybe he's shy of her. And unless he's told her he's jealous how does she know. It's tough focusing on dad when other people are making a fuss over him. You can end up feeling like your staring and I know for myself I get quite anxious. Or all my siblings I felt the least anxious in his presence.

I wish she wouldn't do this as I had asked her in the past it's like a competition or something that I'm not willing to be involved in.

Tut!
I hope you guys had a decent fathers day! X

Maybe she sees you as 'Daddy's little girl'. An envious position to be in for some.

@Picklebobble2 did you have a decent fathers day?

@Peppa Usual Sunday stuff I'm afraid.
If I wasn't working I was researching something for work.
My children all sent E-cards which was nice and my eldest Grandson and youngest Grandaughter both skyped me which is always fun.
He's 4 and she's 2. Theyre a right comedy duo !
Great fun !

@Picklebobble2 that's really sweet. Glad you were remembered all this nonsense about them stopping the day I think is a little silly.
We should all treat our dads well but I think it's still nice to have a national day.

I guess she's trying to make you feel better, but if you've asked her not to, it seems a pretty illconsidered comment (at best).
