If one of your relatives took an expensive item from your home without asking, would you press charges?

depends on my relationship with that relative and whether there's any chance of me getting my belongings back without pressing charges

It definitely would be an option to me, but first I would discuss it with them. AFter you talked I think you would have a better idea what to do.
