Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face And stars fill my dream I'm a traveler of both time and space To be where I have been

To sit with elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed

It hurts my heart to think of how we white men in our arrogant and ignorant hearts believed the native peoples of America were savages, taking away sacred lands, forcing them to take "Christian" names and outlawing sacred rituals they have practiced for anyone knows how long.

Often putting them on reservations with tribes they did not get along with. When the elders speak of the "Great White Father" they didn't mean some politician in Washington. White men have only recently begun to understand the experience of "life after death" (NDE) and the thousands of documented cases of folks claiming a "GREAT WHITE LIGHT" at the end of the tunnel.

I hope somehow, somewhere, native peoples will have their lands restored, their native names returned to them as well as ALL rituals. Never to be bothered by the white people again.
