Not because you couldn't afford rent, but simply because, you didn't want to spend money on rent...or a mortgage.

Once, life was not going so well and I considered selling my house quitting my job and living out of my car until I figured out what I wanted to do. Didn't end up doing that, but I didn't consider it.
