What is it like to live in Texas?

Tatsumi · 31-35, M
Like living in Hell, and feeling like you're going to suffocate, spontaneously combust, then die, any time you walk outside.

Overly conservative Hell. Basically like the opposite of California, but with more murder and probably more poor people, surprisingly. A lot of religious people. Shitty public education, more invested in sports stadiums than academics. Overt and now open-carry gun fanatics, big gun culture. Shitty public transport

And, I might get some shit for this, but it's true--as a Lreface, my uncle is Mexican-Mexican, my 3 cousins are half Mexican, and I love them dearly: a ridiculous amount of Mexicans. Not cool American-Mexicans, but Mexican-Mexicans who often are blatantly racist and douchey, with holier-than-thou attitudes.

Fuck Texas. I'm getting out as soon as I can. Oregon or Scandinavia.

If you're in one of the cities it feels like a lot of places do. In the countryside, well...if you aren't a local you're going to stand out.

Fantastic. Low cost of living, great food, plenty of jobs, good people, hot in the summer.

Been there done that for six years. Not a huge difference from other places I have been. The talk is bigger!
I liked living in Texas, but the boudin is better on the other side of the river.
