Yep, 4 years in the USAF. It's what got me a foundation to get into college and get started in life.

@xRedx Nope. There are actually very few pilots in the USAF. I think only something like 0.05% of the total people in the Air Force. I worked with electronics and computers in offices. The only time I ever saw a plane was when I went to the display field we had at the base.

@Reboot wow, only very few are pilots then. I can imagine the amount of training is put into becoming a pilot

@xRedx Yea, to start with you have to have a degree. The HUGE majority of people joining the military are fresh high school graduates looking for a job or a way to pay for college. After having a degree there's OCS, a ton of medical testing and then about 4 levels of pilot training that takes about a year to complete. After that you're a pilot.

Most people who work to become a pilot are in it for the long haul and make a career out of it.
