So I visited a trailer park today

First of all I got lost on the way there because the streets aren't marked clearly in the part of town it was located in. Or my GPS lied to me. Not the nicest end of town it was sketchy. Anyway the trailers were older and crappy looking. I saw a dumpster outside of one being gutted. There was no paneling left on it. I saw zero luxury cars parked. Oh and there was like zero parking so I couldn't get any photos as it was hard to drive, pay attention and take photos. Lots of older cars like tauruses and Malibu and trucks. I saw some people walking around. They looked like the people that usually shop at walmart. No hillbilly stereotypes though from what I saw.

Nobody has nice yards it all grass and weeds. Some trailers had heaps of junk piled up on the front or side of them. That was offputting and was something I expected.

Overall, it wasn't the hillbilly place I thought it was going to be. However, I would still never live in one nor would I step foot in one again.

Well la di fucking da. Why on earth are you so incredibly judgmental? May be shocking to you, but many people don't have money and are really struggling to get by. This doesn't make them trash or any less than a person than you are.

@Addictedtoglamourno ..you will never get it because

I don’t think the people who live there are living their preferred lifestyle...
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@Flenflyys they probably live there because it beats the streets
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
@Addictedtoglamour possibly, it’s probably a step up

Funny that...I would kill to have a run down mobile home with a little patch of weeds
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@Fernie How am I a snob? This was all purely observation.
Fernie · F
@Addictedtoglamour everything you've said has been harshly judgmental and insulting to people living in mobile homes.People who most likely don't act like you...you who lives in a "condo village".. You won't understand it because you are embedded in your superiority...I am done
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@Fernie How else would you have liked me to describe what I observed? I didn't think I was being rude.
F'ing gross! Nothing but poverty and republicans there. I'd have taken a shower when I got home.
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@PrincessVelvet Oh yeah I could definitely tell there was a lot of poverty.
Fernie · F
@PrincessVelvet @Addictedtoglamour what a couple of snobs
nate2244 · 41-45, M
@PrincessVelvet What if your mom,and dad once lived in a trailer park?
nate2244 · 41-45, M
Next stop,the housing projects
nate2244 · 41-45, M
@FernieI'm sorry if I offended you.The housing projects where I'm from were dangerous
Fernie · F
@nate2244 there was much danger in mine as well but we handled it and basically got along well
nate2244 · 41-45, M
These 15 year olds almost shot me in the housing projects,because I was white.
Pambi · 26-30, F
Sounds like over compensation to me. Js
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@Pambi over compensation?
I honestly didn’t know anything except what I’d heard about mobile home parks until a friend bought a home. When I went to see it, it was beautiful and so were many of the other homes, modest, but nicer than a lot of apartments, and there was a community where people looked out for each other. Unfortunately, many of those are going away from the Bay Area with real estate costs being so ridiculous. People who own the parks are selling the land to developers, who will build outrageously priced condos on it.

@bijouxbroussard I lived in one for a while when I was a student. It was ok.
Fernie · F
@bijouxbroussard Sadly, that is happening here as well...selling out to developers. So many are being displaced. you are right...they are small communities where people take care of each other
It's called poverty. Never saw that before?
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@CopperCicada I have but I normally just drive through those areas. I never really stay.
I saw zero luxury cars parked LMAO
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@metaldog it's true
@Addictedtoglamour omg you're a shocker
But why did you go to it?
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@SStarfish because I'm doing this new thing where I go to places I think very little of and try to convince myself they aren't all bad
