@Mondayschild And in saying that it's ok to make many starve because of the few that do wrong...and besides many of the people on assistance have worked and paid into the government in taxes.
@AlmostAnAngel when I worked at Walmart I saw so much abuse of this. Most of these people are able to be do at least a part time job. It should be for senior citizens and families with babies. The boyfriends need to work and stop depending on the money and food that is provided for the people I mentioned.

after the crash of 2008, many long time tax payers found themselves out of homes and jobs. Veterans too, living out of their vehicles.
also @Mondayschild the amount of "welfare" we give to large corporations is stunning. (negative tax rates and all)
maybe something like the CCC would be helpful now.
that 4% unemployment rate? is not a measure of how many people have jobs but how many are registered with the unemployment system.
it is not in our countries interest to have people so needy of basics that they turn to a criminal life
