Supporting Skynet

Something I've wondered about for a long time that I think can spark a healthy debate: do you think we'd do better under the rule of an Artificial Intelligence than we are currently doing?
Honestly I'm all for an AI taking over the world, if only because they'll run it a damn sight better than we've run it for the last 200 years or so. Even if the population gets trimmed, we could do with it already, what with 8 billion people on a planet that can support about 5 billion at best.
So what do you think? Would you submit to the rule of an AI?

Frankly when we're living in today's world, with nuclear bombs on every side, politicians throwing tantrums over other countries having more of something than they have, and people changing laws pretty much every day to suit themselves, we're being ruled by emotions instead of logic
