Another school shooting in the US

Do you suppose it'll be another case where the shooter was already long known to authorities? I feel sorry for the police force actually, it's a thin blue line and the whole culture has shifted to that of societal irresponsibility. They can't hold back a tidal wave

This kid took his fathers weapons. A shotgun and revolver. Its a tough call, but a responsible gun owner really needs to be held responsible if his weapons are taken and used like that. There is precedent for a Murder charge being extended to cover someone who did not pull the trigger.

I've always wondered whether it would work where each gun purchase is co-signed by two other people who basically vouch for you. If you commit a crime with the gun, they bear some responsibility. I think they do something similar in the military where basically each soldier is assigned another soldier to both support and monitor.

I see where you are going, but the "buddy" system doesn't have a sting in it like a criminal prosecution if it fails.. However. having each firearm traced back to its last owner of record and that person being liable for the crimes it commits is workable, once you factor in bona fide stolen weapon reports and insist on secure storage standards. Let responsible gun owners have all the guns they want.. Just make them responsible@plungesponge
