No, I am a pound Texan but also a proud American, but the idea is tempting. Rather just see California and maybe Illinois but again any states leaving the union has not worked in the past.

You are a sadly under-educated little man. When Texas broached the idea of seceding Oklahoma and Arkansas both expressed an interest in joining. Louisiana unfortunately needed help with the big words and couldn't make up their mind. Texas is not America. Texas is and always will be the Republic of Texas, being one of the 50 states is a perk we allow the United states, not the other way around, and yes we do make them pay for the privilege.
