Do you think there is something wrong with me for wanting to be quiet or spend time by myself?

It has been this way since I was a child. I can barley spend time with a lot of people without feeling completely drained afterwards. Every night, I'm always on the verge of telling my poor partner and kid to "shut up," because I want to watch TV in silence. I usually only feel relaxed when I'm alone.

No, nothing unusual about that, we all have our ways of recharging. This said I would talk to your partner about that and figure out a way that you can get true alone time to recharge.
@Lackwittyname Oh, he knows what I'm like. Hahaha It's just difficult to explain to other people. Most people think I'm rude, and even my own parents think that I MUST be depressed because I don't want to talk 24/7.

@lauriethecolourful Oh, well good that he knows. Yes, that can be tricky to explain, I am not a huge talker either, I just make sure I set space and time aside for myself.

Not all that unusual, and certainly there is nothing wrong with you. It can make certain relationships difficult, but there are many who need "me" time.

Join the club, I’m the same way. If I don’t get peace and alone time, crowds and noise drive me nuts.
