It would have to be canned if you want it to last.

If you lost your power, you would lose all of your frozen food. So, with frozen food, you are totally dependent on an uninterrupted supply of electricity.

Canned food will last indefinitely. It may not look quite as good as it did originally, but it will still be safe to eat.

Also, with frozen food, you are limited to how far you can move without it spoiling. With canned goods, you can throw it in a car, truck, or trailer and go anywhere - even if it takes you a year or two to get to where you are going.

According to recent news stories, another imperishable food is fruitcake. They just found some from 1909 from Scott’s expedition to the South Pole that was still edible. You might get tired of fruitcake after a few years though!
