@Pitchblue it's probably because they are either older than me or are married with children. I'm not married nor do I have children.
From my experience management only pays what they think will keep you at the job, no more than that, so if they have kids they might need more money. One of the reasons they don't allow you to talk about your wages. The only way you can control anything at work is threaten to quit BUT you have to be prepared to quit.
