I imagine some rightfully do and others like having an enemy to blame. Like most things, there's a lot of different layers to feminism.

@Ynotisay Feminism itself was and IS about equality for everyone...no matter the color, culture, gender, lifestyle. Women who grew up as Feminists since the 50's know what it means. Men generally do not. It's the threatened/ignorant non-Feminists who have poisoned the meaning ...not the true Feminists.

@Fernie people like Clementine Ford are ruining the movement and making it about hating men

@Fernie I might disagree a bit. I'd say you're absolutely on the mark pre-internet. Not so sure about that now.

@Ynotisay I grew up learning what Feminism is...in it's purest form. These damn young women rarely know anything about where they got there human rights...they don't know that they could still be a man's property if not for us and the Suffragettes who died fighting for women to not be legally raped by their husbands, to get an education, own property, not get pregnant if she chooses not to....WEAR PANTS FOR CRIPE SAKE! I agree, Feminism's real meaning has been washed away and technology plays a huge part in that...it breaks my heart

@Fernie Wasn't that long ago that the climate for women was TOTALLY different. Unfortunately, I think "Listen to us" turns in to "Look at me" way too frequently.

@Ynotisay Please explain that "look at me" thing

@Fernie I think that social media opens the door for people to 'create' an image of themselves that bares little resemblance to how they approach issues. The Suffrage movement was women putting everything on the line to enact change. Expressing "rage" through a tweet or post, and doing nothing more that,is faux-activism.
