@LyricalOne NYC is the epitome of a cultural wasteland.
LA has all kinds of distinct areas that are like whole new worlds. Plus good weather. You can literally see everything from.farmland to barrio in one city. All kinds of unique subcultures like chulo to hot rod kar-kulture.
NYC just has rats and buildings with too many pedestrians and bad smells.

@LyricalOne What is so great about NYC? The inability to find parking or drive 3 miles in under two hours? The congestion and over-priced everything? The big huge generic buildings that block out the sun and feel like a prison? The tolls? The puke sewer called the subway? Oh the awhile capital of the world called Manhattan? Don't forget the charm of the Bronx,Brooklyn, or Queens. Oh I know, the crunch of waterbugs and roaches under your feet as you walk at night.
How is LA cultural wasteland and NYC not? Oh wow we got over priced opera houses and museums. YAWN.

@MethDozer You've obviously missed the beauty of NYC. The world-class museums, music venues, parks, and universities. The beauty of its ethnic diversity and everything that it brings, including restaurants that are truly affordable. It's rich history and the fact that so many of our families came through NYC from other countries to begin a new life. Without NYC, so many other cities, and perhaps even our country, would never have grown as they have.

The university thing is especially stupid. If I'm.not going to the university than it offers me nothing being there. That's not a draw unless you want to be a student at one. FFS, That's like saying Potsdman NY is a spectacular place to visit because because it has Clarkson University. You been to Potsdamn, it sucks but has a world class university.
Parks are everywhere and aren't all that great as well. You can't do much in them and there's a bunch of bums peeing on everything.
Museums are Fucking boring and expensive. Go once and you pretty much done that.
Screw all that money trap noise. I rather go.somewhere with unique neighborhood cultures and and shit to do and experience and can go do sweet jumps on a dirt bike in the dunes. NYC is for rich uptight snobs.
