if an employer notices a bunch of spelling errors in the applicant's resume … he might feel a bit prejudicial toward that person. lackadaisical spelling could be construed as being unsystematic attitude within one's work-place.
i'm not saying you have bad attitude, @Wildflowerr … however, if you have no typos in your resume … you also should have no typos here in your sw-post. and, if you render an excuse for misspelled words … you are more likely to manifest excuses in the work environment.
'legitimate' reasons … i have none. neither do i see irrefutable proof that men are being 'paid' more than women. least not in my company.
