Why is waiting so important part of humans' life that they put places everywhere only for the propose of waiting?

The name waiting area/room is so funny to me.

Waiting is not important. The important thing is timeliness/punctuality. As all the things in our world doesn't work accurately with time. So to be on time, you need to be bit early/ahead of designated time. Hence Waiting..

that's why, there's others to be attended to, deal with that reality.
