Is it fair to criticize the action, or the person who took it?

If you pass judgement on the person, you don't accept the fact that he might have made a mistake, thus depriving him of the opportunity to change.

Mistakes can be repetitive enough to realize it's who they choose to be.

@Miram I see what you mean. A repetitive mistake becomes habit. A persisting habit becomes personality.

Even so, people can at some point become aware of their mistakes and express their will to change.

@proteus Yes. It's part of why I don't think narcissistic personality disorder is non-treatable. We change.

It's bad to pass judgement on people that aren't hurting or affecting us. But it's not always a deprivation of the opportunity to change.

@proteus I agree. Looking back I don't remember changing positively because of harsh criticisms. I tend to disconnect more.
