No, but I think schools should report bad behavior or not trying or classroom disruptions to the child's parents and the parents should spank the child's hiney.

those letters that suggest you "talk" with your kid about their behavior.. and everyone knows what kind of talk they mean

Do they still have parent-teacher conferences? There were always kids who had gotten spankings when their parents got home after those conferences and it was never a secret thanks to their brothers or sisters.
