I just went through this not too long ago...What helped was just telling yourself to "put yourself out there" and "feelings are temporary"
Aidan26-30
@JarJarBoom I try that too, but my chemical reactions control me unfortunately.

@Aidan have you been diagnosed with anything? I dunno, I have pretty bad social anxiety but you just gotta say "suck it up, buttercup" and just do it and when its over ..you can take a deep breath and feel somewhat accomplished
Aidan26-30
@JarJarBoom Yeah just borderline anxiety. I'll live though.

Alcohol always helped my social anxiety at a social event. I would just have a drink or two just enough to feel relaxed and talkative.
Aidan26-30
@rokrchik1211 Yeah hopefully I can do that. I'll by a flask 馃槀

@Aidan just be careful. If you get too hammered it will make things worse. The goal is just to relax not get drunk. Its a fine line

Go with someone who you are very comfortable with and discuss it with them. It often helps in introvert to hang out with a good friend who is an extrovert and they stick together. Then you can stand there and contribute to conversations at your own pace without feeling pressure.

@joesand99 Will attempt

@Aidan Have a safety outlet. Pick up your phone and walk away saying I have to take this if you get uncomfortable. Then walk away. Recover, get your courage up and go back in.

@joesand99 Thank you
