what is it that makes clowns scary but then again everybody supposedly likes the joker

Ah well, since the dawn of history man has celebrated around 4 times a year in carnival type stuff. And this is the essential flipside of Sacred: Bawdiness, riotous cheeky bawd. These festivals were very joyous events and reminds us that time is short and the joke is always on us. Now, a clown is not quite right, it is just sad and this jars with the unconscious and the universal mind, something not quite right - equals fear. People who fear clowns are smart people.
