Do you converse with friends you've met online?

Yes, I have a few good friends I've met over the years from Facebook. But I have a rule about being able to video call on messenger, Skype, whatsapp, FaceTime etc. I need to see that the person that I am talking to is who they claim to be. I don't trust pictures, people can send me a million pics and I would be critical because photoshop and filters can alter images.

I don't care if I never see what my internet friends really look like as long as we get along and they treat me with respect. Unless I actually plan on meeting them in person, which is exceedingly rare. Then I like to know exactly who I'm talking to because it's important that I take every possible precaution to make sure that I'm safe and I know what to expect.
