I think we ALL think that sometimes. We live in the most medicated society in human history. 1 in 6 Americans takes some kind of anti-anxiety drug and the statistics get even more scary when you start looking at other types of mood-enhancing or recreational drugs. These things are not the problem, they are a symptom of a society that moves too fast, too hard. It's too expensive to live anymore, unless you and your spouse work two jobs and your kids spend their childhood being raised by professionals.
I theorize that eventually we will push ourselves to the limit and this fragmented, middle-class destroying world-culture will collapse.

Tired of keeping up - I know I can keep pace, but I don't want to anymore. We never get anywhere but to the next launching point.

Most definitely.... as I am often reminded of the violence, destruction, poverty, hopelessness, addiction, pain, cruelty, and brokenness in this world. I don’t ever want to come back here again....

All the time. Every time I feel like I'm "in" or understanding things oopps there goes that rug out from under me again.

I don't even try. I have my own drummer and we get along just fine thank you.
I'm years ahead of the world
