@room101 Obama was the first, and only, US President to have less than 3% GDP Growth for his administration. That is a pathetic economic performance, and one that has created immeasurable misery.
The indicator that job growth is affecting the long term unemployed is when new job creation exceeds 300k/month. We finally hit that this past February.
GDP Growth is expect to be greater than 4% for 2018, which is what we need.

@room101 This is the really important economic indicator. Normal GDP Growth in the US is 2.5% to 3.5%.
With GDP Growth below 2.5%, lie we had with Obama, people lose jobs as companies lay people off to cut expenses. An economy is not healthy if it is stagnant. It must grow. Let's face it, population grows and people need jobs. A flat economy, like we had with Obama, is not good enough.
Secondly, the stock market is not the "economy." The stock market reflects the demand for stock, nothing more, i.e., Supply and Demand. With Obama, he had the Fed cut interest rates. this was done to lower the amount of interest the Federal government had to pay on the massive debt incurred by the federal government.
However, doing so distorts the credit market. Normally, low interest rates encourage borrowing. With Obama, banks lent much less because they could not establish the real Risk Free Rate of Return (Google that).
As a result, only the best credit risks could get credit, i.e., the government agencies and large businesses. Small and medium sized businesses, like the small one i run, could not. This depressed GDP Growth.
Remember, more than 50% of Americans are employed by small and mid-sized businesses and they were starved for capital.
