IF marijuana was legalized in the same way as cigarettes it would lose popularity just like cigarettes did

It’s become a symbol of rebellion and fashion accessory. It would lose that status amongst teens and 20 something’s when Marlboro and other big tobacco companies start selling it.

In terms of number of users, it most certainly would not lose popularity, but that kind of subculture you're referring to would probably begin to disappear at last.

@pokeyphilosophy Have you used cannabis before? There are far too many immediate rewards for using it inherent in its pharmocology for it to ever diminish in popularity.

With alcohol, it is one of only two drugs known to history that is not chemically addictive, but that millions of people choose to be intoxicated by during all of their waking hours for years on end regardless, even when doing so begins to slowly demand more and more sacrifices from other areas of their lives. Greater testament to how much people like something is hardly possible.

@Keraunos it’s nasty

@pokeyphilosophy It's fine for you to feel that way, but it's not noticeably relevant to the predictions you're making. If we're shifting gears to personal tastes here, I'll definitely concede that the smell of the stuff is pretty damned awful prior to having a backlog of pleasurable memories associated with it.

I think they should give it out but poison it first
