Is it possible to kill all bed bugs by hand?

I've been seeing at least three of them a day for a couple weeks now. Every time I killed them. I've been too embarrassed and scared to tell my folks after such a long time of having them. I just put my pillowcases, blankets, and sheets in garbage bags, tied them up, and now they're waiting to be washed. Since then I haven't seen or felt one in my bed. Which is odd. I've shined a flash light all over. Raised my mattress. There's no way for them to hide IN my mattress without any openings. I don't see any under the bed or on the floor. Is it possible I got rid of the only living ones by killing them by hand or taking the blankets off?

Got them from a friend’s house once. I bought a Raid bomb thing from Walmart and I haven’t seen one since. This was about 3 months ago so it appeared to have worked. You have to be careful, if you have carpeting in your room they could be in the carpets or rugs too.
@KaciAlex Yep! If it's early enough in the problem a raid bomb works well. For carpets you'd want to vaccum twice a day as close to the carpet's roots as possible.
