Is it possible to kill all bed bugs by hand?

I've been seeing at least three of them a day for a couple weeks now. Every time I killed them. I've been too embarrassed and scared to tell my folks after such a long time of having them. I just put my pillowcases, blankets, and sheets in garbage bags, tied them up, and now they're waiting to be washed. Since then I haven't seen or felt one in my bed. Which is odd. I've shined a flash light all over. Raised my mattress. There's no way for them to hide IN my mattress without any openings. I don't see any under the bed or on the floor. Is it possible I got rid of the only living ones by killing them by hand or taking the blankets off?

They actually can get in to a mattress. Some will gnaw tiny pinholes in to the fabric and lay eggs in there. Hubby had to deal with them at the hotel all the time and they're nasty. You really should look in to a full santization of everything in your bedroom.
