would you like to design your kid the way you want with genetics or would you just follow the natural way if you could?

Id design them. Lets say we live in that world, you'd have to explain to your child why you didn't give them a life free of genetic disabilities that could hinder them. I don't think I could justify not making sure my baby was 100% healthy when there was the choice

@Qwerty14 well even if you would be the first one to do it. i would say i would rather have a child thats perfect so they can have a great life.

@popmol Perfection is not what I meant. I mean things like Down Syndrome that you could avoid. I don't think less of people with handicaps but I'm sure a lot of families would have taken the choice to let their children not be born with them.

@Qwerty14 well i wouldn't want my kid to have autism like i have if i could choose. also no birth defect of heart defects less chance for cancer and things alike. of course we think nothing less of people with handicaps but we would rather have those people without them.

@popmol Exactly. But I think we gotta be wary of genetic perfection. Ever see Gattaca?

@Qwerty14 well we never want perfection. we want to get closer and closer to it but never perfect. there would be no way to improve a dead end in science. i've never seen it but i've heard about stories and movies saying its dangerous. but a generation of perfectly healthy strong and intelligent people sounds like fun.?
